When will I get a mechanic like this ?

Wow, did you see the Giro d’Italia stage 21 in 2009.  Dennis Menchov was coasting to vicktory when his back wheel simply went under the cobbles and nearly ended in him losing the overall win. But his mechanic came to the rescue. <object width=”560″ height=”340″><param name=”movie”...

Butlins (That’s the bike behind the car)

On our way to Butlins we had some things we needed from Boots and Halfords before heading to Minehead. We visited Boots and got Catrin a swim costume, we then proceeded to Halfords to get some Tyre Levers for the bike as I had left my bike bag in Trisports.  My thought was that I could pick these up quicker than going to Letchworth. To view the route : Vanstone Park Garden CenterFind more Bike Rides in...

Lon Las – Day 3

Day 3We left Builth Wells with a bit of a hangover and minus a man as Simon knee had not recovered in time. This was evident as we realised that we were travelling north. After around 5 miles we made a joint decision to turn back. We then headed south towards the Brecon Beacons. We arrived Brecon via a signpost marked the three cocks (bit apt). At Brecon we found a café that served curry and...

Lon Las 2008 – Day 2 (Dolgellau to Builth Wells)

Well after a good night sleep at the Gwernan Hotel at Dolgellau, (I can recommend the accommodation as 5 Star B&B. The food, beer and breakfast were just the order of the trip) we left in the driving rain with a quick descent into Dolgellau. An instant climb out of Dolgellau followed with an ascent of 1,300ft according to the Garmin Forerunner. The roads turn into lanes and a slow descent...
